Simple Droplet Effect in Cold Process Soap

This is a very simple technique, all you need is thin trace soap batter and you can get this look too!

Here's my silent video of the making:

  1. Hello Emily - love your soap designs and really appreciate the time to take to share your techniques. My favorite video of yours is one where your orange tabby kitty appeared in the background while you were working. Looked like he just woke up from a nap. So cute...kitty should be a mascot and should be in all of your videos. But...I do have cats myself and I know they don't like to cooperate!

Also - very interesting mold you are using. Looks like a big frame that allows you to configure different sizes of molds or multiple molds? Very interesting - did you build it?

    1. Miso (my orange tabby kitty) likes to check up on me at my kitchen. He's so quiet I almost step on him a few times because he sits right between my feet or next to.

The mold I'm using is from soapequipment.com I got it as an event prize draw. It has 3 log compartments but I usually only use one.

    1. It's probably faster and easier to follow my facebook page. It takes time for me to write up posts. But facebook page is updated pretty often with random photos.

  14. Soap making mold is available in a variety of materials shapes and sizes. Because soap making is a creative hobby that saves money and allows for a limitless array of products, soap molds are considered to be an integral part of the soap making process. Soap molds can be simple bar or loaf shaped items or intricately manufactured molds that turn a fantastic recipe into a beautiful decorative soap.

    1. I just checked, the video is working properly. Please go to Youtube and search for shieh design studio, that's my channel. If you still have problem watching any of the videos then it's probably your internet not having enough bandwidth.
